Youth CAN! is a one-day event for and by high school area youth. This is an opportunity to students to learn from peers and other local leaders about climate change solutions, climate justice, and the many other social justice issues that intersect with climate change.

Kim Wasserman, who just won the Goldman Prize, will be our first keynote speaker. She is a very amazing community organizer and helped shut down two coal plants in Chicago, Illinois.

Alondra Cano, a member of the Minneapolis City Council and a community organizer, will also be speaking at Youth CAN! She has worked for student and immigrant rights, improving governmental accountability, and environmental justice.

We will be having sandwiches from Valley Natural Foods in Burnsville. Many of them will be vegetarian, and there will also be fruits and vegetables available.
Youth CAN! is hosted by youth organizations from around the Twin Cities including: YEA!MN, a program of the Will Steger Foundation, El Colegio, and Spark-Y.
